The company was formed in
October 1982 as M & C Plastics.
To produce injection
moulded products.
The initial product range
was containers and contract moulding.
In 1988 the company started
to produce its first 310-ml cartridges.
By 1992 the cartridge
business represented by far the majority of the output. To enable the company
to concentrate its efforts on the growing cartridge market the container
production line was sold.
In line with this
concentration on the cartridge business the company name was changed to Mac
Cartridges in January 1997.
In 1997 the larger 400-ml
cartridge was introduced to the product range.
In July 1999 the 400-ml
Cartridge was modified to reduce the threaded section and to enable
compatibility with the 310ml piston this product became the 380ml.
The company has a range of
injection moulding machines ranging from a 130 to 250 tones.
In December 2006 the Morris
family sold the company to Frank and Ralf Ritter of Ritter Gmbh.
Ritter Gmbh are the largest
European manufacturer of cartridges.
In the following year
Ritter invested a substantial amount in the company significantly increasing
its manufacturing capacity and moving the factory to a new more modern and
larger factory on Wrexham Industrial Estate. This commitment to the company has
extended the scope of the operation.
In January 2008 the company
name was changed to reflect the change in ownership to Ritter UK Ltd.,
The Morris family wish them the very best
for the future.
